today my horse flipped her shit and cow-kicked my friend’s horse in the butt while we were on a hack. then finished the night by biting me so hard that I bled. My shoulder is a mix of green and purple welts.
excuse me while I go drink 5 glasses of wine until I forget that tonight happened.
“The joy of life consists in the exercise of ones energies, continual growth, constant change, the enjoyment of every new experience. To stop means simply to die. The eternal mistake of mankind is to set up an attainable ideal.”—Aleister Crowley, The Confessions of Aleister Crowley: An Autohagiography (via decimator)
I'm a lesbian and I just wanted to clarify something regarding an answer you gave to an ask you received: only lesbians can use the word dyke. It is not for any non-lesbian (even bisexual women) to reclaim. It is a LESBIAN slur. Yes sometimes bi women are called dyke but only when they are perceived as lesbians. Its still not theirs to reclaim and I find it incredibly offensive that u thought u were qualified as someone who isn't even a woman, let alone a lesbian, to give an answer to that ask.
Yep. Those icky privileged bi women who are immediately shielded from homophobia once people realize that they aren’t gay- oh, wait, that doesn’t happen. fuck off lmao
If you want your donations to actually go to autistic people for programs, care and resources, donate either to the Autistic Self-Advocacy Program or the Autism Women’s Network. The money they receive doesn’t go to greedy allistic CEOs or ableist “cures,” but actual beneficial, autistic-chosen, needed things.
Be a good ally this month and don’t support Autism Speaks!
I get a lot of side eye at work for not blindly supporting Autism Speaks but oh well.
I’ve seen a lot of comments on here that they should and can just bring their own lunches. Now lets think about this for a second, there are kids that fall under the financial status where school provides their lunch for them because their family…
I don’t think this is talking about students who can’t afford to bring their own lunch, this is about the hot lunches a school makes for everyone. My thoughts are this: it would be impossible to provide a specific lunch for any and all dietary restrictions be they religious or health related.
Schools do not provide kosher meals. They do not provide gluten free meals, meals for those who are lactose intolerant, or vegetarian meals, or vegan for that matter. I see no reason why a school should provide halal food if the don’t provide other special diet foods. They don’t, and they shouldn’t have to… It would be nearly impossible to do a actually…
For students who are provided a free lunch by the school… I still don’t see a reason, or way to provide for all the special diet restrictions people could potentially have
So over here in the Twin Cities, we have one of the Nation’s highest population of Muslim students and let me just say this:
The MAJORITY of our schools provide hallal meals, which really just means, meals w/o pork to most Muslims. It’s not hard. It’s actually way fucking easier than finding kosher food.
Not only do I live in the TC but I work for an out of school time non profit that serves mostly muslim and african american kids that recieve free and reduced lunch at school. Whether or not the school can provide dietary-appropriate food GREATLY impacts how effective free / reduced cost lunch programs are.
Our non-profit ONLY serves hallal food with 0 peanuts.
So to put it quite frankly: yes, schools should ABSOLUTELY be required to provide food that is appropriate for their students. It is not difficult to do, cities with high populations of Muslim Americans have been doing it for ages.
